He is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a professional member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Burton's professional experience includes the design of over one hundred residential additions, alterations, and new custom homes. Burton's commercial design experience includes fire stations, public schools, private day care centers, office buildings, apartment buildings, beauty salons, restaurants, manufacturing plants, minimum security prisons, forest work camps, warehouse buildings, airplane hangars, community centers, churches, mausoleums, and fire escapes, to name a few. Design solutions are a synthesis of the client's needs and desires, budget, code requirements, and engineering principles. A typical project will begin with a preliminary phase. During this phase, Burton will gather information from the client and the project site to create concept drawings. These drawings are then reviewed with the client and adjusted as required to meet the client's wishes. After the client's approval of the preliminary drawings, detailed construction documents are created. These drawings are used for bidding, building permit application and construction by your general contactor. Other professional services are available, including bidding services, shop drawing review, and review of payment applications.
